Origins of A Shaman in Journey
My name is Aaron Christopher Michael Chengte (chan-tay) Waldron; we are a religiously traumatized theopoet: a Shaman in journey. Our pronouns are they, their and them. We do not identify in the singular first-person pronoun (I), but instead, we identify as a collective third person pronoun (we). As a Shaman in Journey, we aim to undergo a process of deep spiritual, philosophical and theological understanding of a particular trauma experienced by humans in and out of religion: religious trauma. We aim to explore and research into the healing potential of Dream Interpretation rituals as a therapeutic tool for those affected by religious trauma. We wish to highlight the transformative power of Dreams in navigating the complex interplay between psychology, religion, and consciousness.
